Alessandra Tiraterra, Piano
Pianist Alessandra Tiraterra was born in Rome, Italy, where she began studying piano at the age of six. She graduated with a degree in piano performance from the A. Casella Conservatory of Music and in Execution Pianistique from the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris.
In August 2004, Alessandra moved to the United States where she worked as a teaching assistant in the piano department of the Georgia State University School of Music for two years. In May 2006, she received a Master's Degree in piano performance from Georgia State under the supervision of American pianist Geoffrey Haydon, and in June 2006, received a Doctoral Degree with honors in piano performance from the Accademia Angelica Constantiniana Advanced School of Music in Rome, Italy, under the supervision of Italian pianist Marcella Crudeli.
Alessandra began performing in concert at an early age at many institutions including the City of Rome, Teatro Marcello, Musical Academy of Pescara, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Salle Cortot in Paris, Rialto Center for the Performing Arts in Atlanta, and Georgia State University Symphony Orchestra.
She has won many awards in national and international piano competitions including the 2005 Music Teachers' National Association Award of Excellence, the 2005/2006 Stegner scholarship, the 2005/2006 Alfredo Barili scholarship, the 2006 MNTA Outstanding Performer award and the 2006 Who's Who Award for her outstanding professional and academic achievements in the field of music.
